While global temperatures are at an all-time high, U.S. ESG fund flows are facing a retraction. In Q4 of 2023, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasdaq.com\/articles\/us-sustainable-etfs-face-record-outflows-in-2023:-heres-why\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">investors withdrew $5B<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> from U.S. ESG open-end and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). However, also since September of 2023, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ctvc.co\/stockpiling-the-dry-powder-for-climate\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">63 new climate funds have quietly raised $82B<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> in fresh closed capital. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">As a traditional, cap-gains-driven investor, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.insightpartners.com\/ideas\/climate-tech-investing\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Insight seeks <\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">to ensure that all investments, including existing portfolio companies, understand the impact of any material climate change-related risks<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0on their operations and\/or customers. These considerations are particularly relevant across software verticals including supply chain, proptech, GRC, govtech, regtech, insuretech, and generative AI.
